ABOUT

Nicole is an emerging artist working in Ontario, Canada who works in varying mediums with a focus in acrylic paint. Her work primarily explores the complexities of personal identity and how media and the world around us helps to define who we are – often drawing inspiration from her own life experiences and broader cultural influences. Through her practice, she aims to invite viewers to reflect on their own sense of self and the ever-evolving nature of self identity. The artist received her BA at the University of Waterloo, completing her studies in the Honours Arts program with a major in Fine Arts - Studio Practice. Nicole has had the privilege of being awarded for varying artworks, being the recipient for the Jocelyn Cowan Prize in Painting in 2023, and more recently the Fine Arts University of Waterloo Dean’s Award for her thesis piece (Nothing Matters) in 2025.
